Holiday Coffee

How does Starbucks manage to make people fork out $4-5 for a coffee?

Normally I don’t buy coffee from Starbucks, but during the holiday season I go there all the time to buy gingerbread lattes. I’m obsessed with gingerbread lattes and I can’t get enough. I don’t understand what kind of black magic Starbucks uses to provoke me to buy gingerbread lattes.

Well, a lot of people buy Starbucks because they’re under the impression that just because it’s expensive, it must be the best. Some people buy it because there’s a very high caffeine content, and it helps them wake up. Some people really like cold coffee (me included), and think it’s a really good summer drink. As for you, I’d imagine it would have something to do with the spices in the gingerbread flavoring. Ginger is a very “seductive” taste, and it’s one of those things that once you have a taste, you’re compelled to drink more. Starbucks has had their formulas for a long time, and they know what it takes to get people addicted.
